Air Travel and Driving Directions from Airports
The Oakland Airport is approximately 15 miles from Berkeley:
From North I-880 (San Jose; Hayward; Oakland Airport)
- Stay in left center lanes
- Exit 80 East (to Berkeley)
- Exit at University Avenue
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.8 miles to Oxford Street
The San Francisco Airport is approximately 24 miles from Berkeley:
From Northbound Highway 101 (San Francisco/Daly City)
- Follow 101 North and then switch to 80 East, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge
- After the Bay Bridge,Exit to I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
- Exit on University Avenue
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.8 miles to Oxford Street

Public Transit from Airports
From the OAKLAND airport:
- At the Oakland airport take the AirBart Shuttle to the "Oakland Coliseum" BART station.
You can buy the $2 AirBart shuttle ticket at a machine just before exiting the Oakland airport, or there is another machine at the Shuttle stop (in the center median strip).
- Board a "Richmond"-bound BART train and get off at the "Downtown Berkeley" station.
- Exit the Berkeley station at Center Street.
- Walk east on Center Street for 1 block to the west border
of campus (which is Oxford Street).
From the SAN FRANCISCO airport:
- Take a SamTrans bus to the Daly City BART station.
- At the Daly City BART station catch a "Richmond" train,
which travels underneath the Bay to Oakland and then
curves northward and continues towards Berkeley.
- Get off at the "Downtown Berkeley" station.
- Walk east on Center Street for 1 block to to the west border
of campus (which is Oxford Street).
Campus Shuttle Bus
A campus shuttle bus stops across from the BART station near the
intersection of Shattuck and Center Streets. It costs 25 cents.
- Take the "Perimeter" campus shuttle bus.
- Ride around the campus to the opposite side and exit at the Haas School of Business.
- Walk downhill through the School of Business complex, continue on past Minor Hall, and you will
reach the Faculty Club.
