General Information

acupa2003 will be held April 24-25 at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. This will be the fifth meeting of ACUPA participants - the first of which was hosted by MIT (see
acupa98), second by the University of Maryland, College Park (see acupa2000), third by Indiana University (see acupa2001). and the most recent meeting was hosted by the University of California, Berkeley (see acupa2002). There is no registration fee or membership fee to participate in acupa events.

The special rate for symposium attendees is $109 per night, plus 13% tax. Parking is available in the hotel garage for $7.50 per day. Please reserve your room by April 5, 2003 to receive this rate. After the 5th, rooms are subject to prevailing rates and availability. This is a guaranteed rate for the ACUPA meeting. You sometimes can find other specials which will give you lower rates for this Hotel on sites like Expedia, Orbitz, etc.

Academic Rate - $59.00. State that you are coming to the University of Minnesota for the ACUPA Meeting (sponsored by Policy and Process Development Office) to get that rate. This Hotel has a free shuttle to the University of Minnesota. It is around 6 blocks from the Coffman Union.

Rate for room with two doubles or 1 king size bed: $175.95 plus tax according to Holiday Inn. Lower rates can be found by checking Orbitz, Expedia or Travelocity or other internet travel sites. The Holiday Inn Metrodome is around 6 blocks from the Coffman Union. On January 9, 2003, Expedia had some Holiday Inn Metrodome rooms for $106.


Travel and Directions

You can use Super Shuttle to get to your hotel from the airport. Rates are $13.00 one way to downtown Minneapolis Hotels. Reservations are not required. After claiming your luggage, follow signs to the Ground Transportation Center (lower level). Continue to follow the signs to the Hotel Shuttle Service area (up one level). SuperShuttle is conveniently located inside the terminal near the Hotel Shuttle Service boarding area. You will want to reserve with Super Shuttle to make your return trip to the airport.
