How to Develop a Policy

Below are resources to help policy owners develop University wide policies. You can also view an overview of the Policy Development Process.

Planning the Policy
The following forms are used in the initial policy development process.

Documenting the Policy
Once the policy is ready for development complete the Policy Template. Use the Procedure Template to develop any related procedures. Once the templates are completed the policy is ready to be sent to the University Policy Office for online publication.

Policy Maintenance

Policy Owners and Subject Matter experts can go to this site to review the policies, procedures and forms they own.

When reviewing policies, owners should use the Policy Maintenance Form.
